Barry Andrews canvasses with his brother, David McSavage
This is a video of Barry Andrews, former Minister for Children, canvassing with his comedian brother, David McSavage.  Barry Andrews managed to enact an Adoption Bill without including a single provision for adopted people's rights.  Mr. Andrews lost his seat and was not re-elected.

Brendan Smith asks a constituent for her Number 1 vote.....
...little did he know she was an adoption activist!  While Brendan Smith was Minister for Children, he did nothing whatsoever to further adopted people's rights.  Brendan Smith took over from Brian Lenihan in 2007, who despite countless false promises and despite having set up the 2003 Adoption Legislation Consultation (which was intended to facilitate adoption information legislation), failed to deliver the legislation.  From the adopted person's perspective, Mr. Smith was a non-event as Minister for Children.
